Preparing Students for Success

BestPrep is a statewide nonprofit that serves 100,000 students and teachers in grades 4-12 annually. More than 1,000 volunteers from business, labor, education, government, and social services conduct presentations in classrooms, work with students, serve as faculty-in-residence, provide technology related services to schools, and participate on committees and/or the board of directors.

BestPrep's mission is to best prepare Minnesota students with business, career and financial literacy skills through experiences that inspire success in work and life.

BestPrep offers five dynamic programs:

Minnesota Business Venture - Weeklong residential summer business and financial literacy program for high school students conducted in partnership with St. Cloud State University, St. John's University, and the Minnesota Bankers Association. More than 320 students participate annually from across the state.

The Stock Market Game™- A 14-week web-based simulation that is available in the fall and spring to help students understand the American economic system. Annually, more than 13,000 students and 250 teachers representing 240 cities and towns throughout Minnesota participate in The Stock Market Game.

eMentors - Connecting students with volunteer professionals through email. Students develop professional writing skills and learn about the relationship between classroom learning and future career skills. More than 1300 students and mentors are paired annually.
