Elementary School teachers use The SMG program to reinforce math skills, such as converting fractions to decimals and vice versa. The SMG program is used to introduce the concepts of "business" and public services in the community, and to illustrate the impact businesses have on the local economy. The SMG program can also introduce children to the concepts and value of investing and saving for the future.

Middle and Junior High School teachers typically use SMG program to increase student proficiency in mathematics and online research. At these grade levels, SMG encourages more sophisticated research and use of computer spreadsheets. The SMG program also provide ample opportunity for students to learn about other countries' economic systems.

High School teachers use The SMG program to develop an increased understanding of economics and business concepts and to teach participants how to conduct more advanced stock selection research.
