Programs > Technology Integration Workshop> Volunteers

BestPrep’s Technology Integration Workshop teaches educators the technology and workplace skills necessary to better prepare their students for the future. Volunteers are needed to host a participant at their workplace for a half-day job shadow. We also need volunteer presenters to share their knowledge of technology with educators.

Goals of the Workshop:

  • Through a ½ day job shadow, participants will experience first-hand technology and workplace skills they can apply to their curriculum.

  • Participants will increase their level of technology literacy for classroom use.

  • Demonstrate technology integration methods so participants will use technology to teach their curriculum.
Volunteer as a Business Partner

Business Partners turn their workplace into a "high-performance classroom" by partnering with a Workshop participant for a job shadow and business lunch. They help secondary education teachers understand the skills students need beyond graduation to succeed in the workplace today. Business Partners improve their leadership and interpersonal skills, enhance their communication with the educational system, and increase their performance, productivity, and pride in the community.

Volunteer Business Partners at this workshop will:

* Meet with an educator for lunch
* Provide a half day job shadow for an educator
* Provide an educator with a packet of information on your company including job skills needed
* May continue communicating throughout the school year

Volunteer as a Presenter

Volunteers are needed to share their expertise and/or workplace experience with teachers at BestPrep’s Technology Integration Workshop. The Workshop offers teachers an opportunity to discover how content taught in their class is put to use in work-related settings. Teachers will use this experience to develop more relevant curriculum that connects with real-world applications and effectively integrates technology.

Examples of possible presentation topics:
* 21st Century Job Skills
* Technology in the Workplace
* What Students Need to Know Before Graduation
* National and State Technology and Academic Standards
* Online Educational Materials
* Software Packages
